Now i want to introduce fusion traditional drama. The moon that embraces the sun is based on the novel of the same title, depicting the first love of a fictional king, set in the royal court of the Chosun Dynasty. It is a sad but beautiful love story of innocent young people, with the story developing around the conflicts and conspiracy of political powers vying for the throne against the king’s efforts for good politics.
a quality fusion historical drama enhanced by the strong acting of the main and supporting actors, its visual appeal for targeting young viewers.
So even the drama story is past time of the Chosun, it is more trendy than historical drama and focus on the love and romance.
SUMMARY OR THE DRAMA
Heo Yeon-u, the daughter of a high-ranking official, visits the royal court with her mother to see her brother attend a ceremony congratulating his first place in the state examination. By chance, she comes across crown prince Lee Hwon, and the two feel attracted by each other. Yeon-u’s brother, a person of high scholarship with a great personality, is ordered by the king to become the mentor of the crown prince. After learning that his mentor is Yeon-u’s brother, the crown prince uses him as a messenger of love.
Inside the palace, there is a conspiracy to have Yoon Bo-gyeong, the daughter of a family clan that is in opposition to the king, selected as the crown princess. Lee Hwon manages to have Yeon-u selected as the crown princess, but his great-grandmother Yoon asks shaman Nok-yeong to cast a spell on Yeon-u so that she becomes stricken with an unknown sickness. Yeon-u is taken to her home in her last remaining days of life, and passes away. Nok-yeong secretly visits Yeon-u’s father and tells him how to break the spells. Upon being resurrected from her grave, Yeon-u lives her life as a shaman by the name Wol, without any recollection of her past. Meanwhile, after Yeon-u’s believed death, Yoon Bo-gyeong becomes the crown princess and expands her political power in the court. Amid difficult political circumstances, Lee Hwon grows to be a cold and aloof king. As time passes, his yearning for Yeon-u only grows. One day, he sets out on an excursion to a hot spring. Seeing him in the royal procession from afar, Yeon-u (Wol) becomes confused as Hwon comes back vaguely in her memory.
As we know, the Chosun dynasty was ruled by Confucianism. However, at that time, it still coexistence with shamanism. In the shaman, people believe that the Sun symbolises a king. So there was only one man can be a sun which is the fate which only a king or a future king posses. However, two man were born during that time. so royal family members who wanted to lead future, they make conspiracy of political power by using shaman power.

LYRICS:

English Translation
As the light dims by the clouds
The memories that are as cold as the raindrops that are pounding down the window
Are grabbing onto my heart
*Sunk in the longing that gets heavier as time passes
Can I travel back time?
If you hug me just like you did before
Then I will be better
I follow the wet and rainy road
And look back to our memories
The blurry rain reminds me of you
And you fill up in my tears
*Repeat
It scatters – the times you were with me, the memories you were with me
Can I travel back time and hug you just like before?
Just for once, even if it’s last
I’ll be better
this drama is more focused on the love between king and girl. so music is also quite more trendy and contemporary. however, lyrics still has Han feeling which is lighter than historical drama o.s.t. and depicts not a sorrow of own's fate but a yearning for meeting lovers.

Drama,Empress Myungsung, is a historical drama, aired in 2001. The drama is about the life of the last Korean empress, Empress Myung Sung who married with King Gojong. it shows her biography in Chosun dynasty and tragic of her life.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF HISTORICAL ACCIDENT
Within a year of King Gojong's accession to the throne, representatives of Meiji Japan appeared in Seoul to demand that the Koreans pay tribute. They also requested to make treaty to get in to the Chosun easily. Behind back of their mind, by making treaty, they wanted to dominate the Chosun. However queen min kept making relationship with Russia to prevent japan's power. Japan's agents and officials in Seoul, well aware of Queen Min's appeals to Russia, countered by approaching her old nemesis and father-in-law, the Taewongun.
In the fall of 1895, Japanese ambassador to Korea Miura Goro formulated a plan to assassinate Queen Min, a plan that he named "Operation Fox Hunt." Early in the morning of October 8, 1895, a group of fifty Japanese and Korean assassins launched their assault on Gyeongbokgung Palace. They seized King Gojong, but did not harm him. Then, they attacked the queen consort's sleeping quarters, dragging out the queen and three or four of her attendants.
The assassins questioned the women to make sure that they had Queen Min, then slashed them with swords, stripped, and raped them. The Japanese displayed the queen's dead body to several other foreigners in the area, particularly the Russians, so that they knew their ally was dead, and then carried her body to the forest outside the palace walls. There, the assassins doused Queen Min's body with kerosene and burned it, scattering her ashes.

Undermeath the cold moonlight
If I can see my shadow lying there
shall I just tell you how I feel inside all thet is in my heart~
If the wind may blow on my heart,
telling me again thar I'm alone
should I just give out a sigh and ask myself
why do I have to live myself
though I may be sad I've got to live
because I feel so sad I must go on~
I know that I will understand when I'm gone
why I just had to live my life here in this world~
you were the only one for me~
though sorrow of my heart you loved me so~
please tell me so
like the evening light so falls
If all my memories just fade away
will I hold on to joy that's in my heart
oh,days of long a go~
wonder if the star in the sky
he know hoe I feel,my loneliness
maybe that is why he is there withme
he just there all through the night
though I may be sad I've got to live
because I feel so sad I must go on~
I know that I will understand when I'm gone
why I just had to live~ my life here in this world~
you were the only one for me~
though sorrow of my heart you loved me so~oh,
I hope some day
you were the one to cry for~
